Avery Dennison launches Patched Together campaign, helping to provide relief during coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic

July 30, 2020

Avery Dennison’s Retail Branding and Information Solutions (RBIS) division, a global leader in providing end-to-end solutions in the apparel and footwear industry, today announced the Patched Together campaign, which aims to provide relief during the COVID-19 pandemic. The campaign features a series of limited edition patches designed to celebrate healthcare workers and promote important health and safety behaviors. 100% of net proceeds from the sale of the patches will be donated to Doctors Without Borders /Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), in support of the nonprofit’s ongoing humanitarian efforts.

This is an unprecedented time when external forces are keeping people physically apart. Yet through the spirit and resolve of communities, people are finding new ways to stay more connected than ever before. The Patched Together campaign leverages RBIS’s creativity and expertise in external embellishments to help encourage this sense of togetherness —and all for a good cause. The patches can be applied to apparel, backpacks, hats and more as a way to spread positive messages and create a deeper sense of community.

Witnessing the global impact of COVID-19 inspired us to step up and support our communities," said Michael Barton, vice president and general manager, global commercial, Avery Dennison RBIS. "Right now, the world is rallying around healthcare and frontline workers, creating a true feeling of unity despite our physical separation. We hope to do our part by delivering moments of inspiration and hope during this challenging time."

Doctors Without Borders is extremely grateful for the support of Avery Dennison through the Patched Together campaign," said Laurence Lombart, director of corporate relations at MSF. "As we face an unprecedented global health crisis, we rely on this generosity to respond to this emergency and continue providing medical care in over 70 countries.”

As part of the Patched Together campaign, Avery Dennison is donating scrub tops embellished with the patches to a network of hospitals in Honduras and Bangladesh that have been deeply affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. These hospitals include Kurmitola General Hospital and Dhaka Medical College Hospitals. The company is also providing patches to several NYC Health + Hospital locations, including Bellevue, Coney Island, Kings County, Queens, and Harlem.

The limited edition patches are available for purchase through this website. The $25.00 packs of patches come in two different sets containing six patches each. 100% of net proceeds will be donated to MSF. In addition, digital versions of the patches are available on Avery Dennison’s LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram pages. The digital patches for Instagram Stories can be found by searching for #patchedtogether or #togetherAD.
