Leonhard Kurz wins Red Dot Award for packaging design

November 28, 2019

The fourth edition of the packaging collection Box in Box by Leonhard Kurz has received a Red Dot Award for good design. The set of design boxes won the coveted award in the Packaging Design category in the Brands and Communication Design competition of the Red Dot Award 2019. Over a period of several days, the jury thoroughly reviewed, discussed and evaluated a total of 8,697 international competition entries in order to reward the best. The award ceremony took place on the first of November as part of the Designers' Night in ewerk Berlin. Here, the designers of the prize-winning box in box, Annie Kuschel and Julia König, were presented with their certificate.

The Box in Box Four joins a series of packaging patterns that releases shortly a year ago. The packaging design incorporates current trends and social developments, which the short-trend team, together with a trend agency, detects each year anew. The award-winning box in box contains four nested packages representing individual trend themes. With unusual designs, newly developed trend colors, sophisticated finishing techniques and distinctive surface structures, they capture moods and express feelings of life. The aim of the short-trend boxes is to provide agencies, printing companies and brand manufacturers with regular fresh impulses and inspirations for innovative packaging refinement. "Because we like to inspire other design professionals with our work, We are especially pleased that this has been achieved with our Box-in-Box series by the Red Dot Jury. This ultimately led to a prestigious award that confirms Kurz's high standards of aesthetics and design, "says Kurz designer Annie Kuschel.

For around 65 years, the Red Dot Award, one of the world's largest design competitions, has provided designers, agencies and businesses with a design evaluation platform. I would like to sincerely congratulate the award winners for their award, which both demonstrates their convincing performance and underlines their quality and design leadership. Anyone who emerges victorious from such a strong and international field of competitors deserves to be proud of himself and his achievements."

Kurz's award-winning box-in-box design will be featured in the International Yearbook Brands & Communication Design 2019/2020, which will be released on November 14 and distributed worldwide.
