John E Wright has once again demonstrated its appreciation of Canon technology with the purchase of three new Colorado M5W PRO printers from CMYUK. These have been installed at the company’s flagship facility in Nottingham, and its branches at Norwich and Oxford. The new printers join the company’s existing 2 X Colorado 1650s purchased from CMYUK in 2022, which are now situated in the company’s Hull and Derby print centres.

CMYUK has installed a Canon Colorado 1650 UVgel printer at ESP Smile, part of the ESP Group of companies. This brings the business’ Colorado count to three, which together form the production engine of its print-on-demand canvas gifting service.

Canon’s wide format production printing technologies have again been recognised in the annual PRINTING United Alliance Pinnacle Awards, with six Pinnacle Product Awards and one Pinnacle Technology Award. The Colorado M-series was the winner in the Roll-to-Roll/Hybrid/Flatbed New Technology category, while the Arizona 135 GT, 1380 GTF, 1380 XTF, 2380 GTF and 2380 XTF made a clean sweep by winning each of their five respective UV/Latex Flatbed categories. Additionally, Canon also won the Pinnacle Technology Award for the recently launched unique Canon UVgel White Ink.

Color-Logic has announced certification of Canon Colorado M-series printers with white ink.

Canon announces that 3M has recognised the exceptional quality of the Colorado M-series and approved its UVgel 460 white ink as part of the 3M™ MCS™ Warranty program, following its successful introduction earlier this year. The 3M MCS Warranty program provides assurance that applications printed on the Colorado M-series in combination with UVgel 460 inks and 3M’s approved media will achieve the highest quality standards. The applications it covers include vehicle graphics, signs and displays, floor graphics, as well as transparent film and multilayer applications, such as window graphics and many more.

Wokingham-based Image-Corporate has boosted its production capability, investing in a Canon Colorado 1630 large format graphics printer from CMYUK. The roll-to-roll UV LED printer features UVgel inks making it ideal for producing counter graphics and wallcoverings for the hospitality and catering sector. Image-Corporate will also use the new machine for printing vinyl wraps to create personalised branding for its innovative portable Rapidbar units.

Canon today launches the new Colorado M-series: the first roll-to-roll large format graphics printer platform that is modular in speed configuration and media handling. It’s the fastest and most productive solution in this market segment and offers special effects and white ink printing capabilities. This 1.6m roll-to-roll printer retains the Canon Colorado series’ industrial build quality and can be configured to a graphics provider’s needs and grow with their business, with easy in-field upgrades.

Ainsley Signs has invested in a Canon Colorado 1650 UVgel roll printer from CMYUK. The printer was purchased expressly to boost the throughput times of its banner production. It follows close on the heels of a Kongsberg X24 Digital Cutting Table installation, also purchased from CMYUK last year.

Optimum Signs has installed a Canon Colorado 1650 from CMYUK at its premises in Preston and has garnered immediate star status within the company. “It’s phenomenal,” says MD, Matthew Austin. “I spoke with production manager James Garity who generally runs most of our print work, and his words were: I don’t know how the hell we coped without it. Seriously, it’s just the best thing in the world.”

Edinburgh-based Pineapple Express has invested in a Canon Colorado 1630 printer. This comes a year on from the installation of the Colorado 1650. Both printers were purchased from CMYUK.

Beacon Print has recently installed a Canon Colorado 1630. Through the acquisition, the organisation hopes to deliver higher quality output to its customers, whilst increasing productivity, new business opportunities and growth into new markets.
