Roland DGA Corporation, a leading provider of wide-format inkjet printers and other advanced digital imaging devices, has announced the addition of two new belt-driven hybrid UV printers to its VersaUV LEC2 S-Series. The LEC2-330S B-200 and LEC2-640S B-200 hybrid inkjets, which complement the existing flatbed models within the series, use a conveyer belt to transport media along the bed to a stationary printing gantry for increased versatility. The new hybrids also maximize creative options for users by printing directly not only on rigid and flexible substrates but also on roll-to-roll substrates.
Roland DGA has introduced new HeatSoft™ Premium heat transfer material (ESM-HTMP) to its family of high-quality media. This flexible, 3.5-mil matte polyurethane film with a waterbase coating is smooth, has a soft hand, and yields vibrant prints resembling screen-printed graphics. Supplied on a recyclable clear polyester liner, HeatSoft Premium is simple to weed and transfer, allowing for optimum ease of use and productivity. It’s also extremely lightweight, extremely durable, and because it can be applied at temperatures as low as 72°F (120°C), HeatSoft Premium is ideal for heat-sensitive garments.
The Richard Childress Racing (RCR) team has developed new-for-2022 wrap designs for its NASCAR Sprint Cup and Xfinity Series race cars – all printed by skilled RCR Graphics Center wrap technicians on the facility’s new Roland DG TrueVIS Series wide-format printer/cutters. The Graphics Center, located on RCR’s expansive campus in Welcome, North Carolina, has a staff of 10 and uses Roland DG inkjets exclusively to create wraps and graphics for its race cars as well as for the team’s various support vehicles.

Roland DGA has replaced its existing line of canvas media products with two new and improved canvas offerings – ESM-SSC2 (Solvent Satin Canvas) and ESM-SGC2 (Solvent Gloss Canvas). Both of these new 22-mil media are 65% polyester/35% cotton blends with an Oxford weave that offer the traditional look and feel of real artist canvas. With their natural white color and increased white point, they yield outstanding image definition, richer dark tones, and more vivid prints. In addition, these products do not contain optical brighteners, and they have excellent archival properties.
