Your Print Specialists (YPS) to distribute new Moditech EWS flatbed laminators

August 04, 2022

Newcastle-based distributor of large format and digital textile printing solutions, Your Print Specialists (YPS) has announced it will be the exclusive UK distributor of Moditech’s EWS 5th Generation Flatbed Laminators. These machines are uniquely designed to be perfectly aligned with the real-life, practical demands of large format print service providers and sign-makers.

EWS stands for the Electronic Work Station. They have been designed to be the most user-friendly and ergonomic workstations available anywhere in the industry. The benefits of these ergonomics can be seen in the positive impact they have on employee well-being and efficiency, which in turn helps increase efficiency, productivity and profitability.

Georgia Brown, Managing Director of YPS, says, “This really is a very special product and one that we are proud to be able to offer to our customers. Everything about the design of this machine is aimed at improving the overall user experience. It is elegant, safe and incredibly user-friendly. This machine will be an asset to any business, appreciated by staff, customers and the business owners.”

Jørn Olsen, Business Development Manager, Moditech, says, “The Moditech EWS is now ready for global distribution and we are looking for the right distributors to support us in our key territories. We met Georgia and the YPS team at FESPA and felt that would be an ideal company to work with in the UK. They were looking for a product like ours to complement their range of large format printing solutions and we feel very confident that they will provide the right level of support and commitment that we are looking for in an exclusive country partner.”

He continues, “YPS has an excellent reputation in the industry for their products and customer service and this is very important to us. They have the passion and commitment to promote the Moditech EWS in the right way and to demonstrate the considerable operational, efficiency and ergonomic benefits the system can offer.”

Unrivalled Ergonomics

The Moditech EWS features include an electronically pressurised roller that makes it possible to work anywhere on the table. This means users don’t have to stretch to reach areas in the middle of the table, they don’t have to use supporting posts during lamination and there is much less likelihood of damaging the sign material. With the table being fully electronic, it therefore doesn’t need a compressor.

“Every Moditech EWS is pre-assembled, which means it can easily fit through a normal door to get into your workshop. Each table is packed vertically to a width of 78cm - so they can be transported and installed easily. Delivery through narrow passages and doorways is easy with the packed width of just 78cm. Even if you have a relatively small unit, thanks to the EWS workstation, a new applicator table is not out of reach due to size restrictions,” adds Georgia.

Just about everything on the EWS is adjustable. The EWS table surface tilts up to 25 degrees to ensure a comfortable working position, which is a huge benefit when working with large format prints and boards. The table height control is motorised so it is very easy to adjust it into the most comfortable position for all operators. There are also built in wheels that are controlled electronically to make the machine easy to move but also easy to fix in place for added safety.

“The ergonomic design of the EWS seems to have thought of everything to ensure a fantastic user experience and maximum productivity,” adds Georgia. “As well as all the electronic movement that make this the most comfortable machine to use, there are hidden shelves and other handy additions that users will find makes working a lot easier and more intuitive. The workstation also has a foldable glidebeam that adds further working space when handling even larger materials.”

Profitable Lamination

As a laminator, the EWS Workstation is focused on reducing waste, minimising potential damage and saving time. Each of which will help customers reduce costs and maximise profitability.

The unique and patented electronically controlled pressurised roller ensures an accurate and even pressure along the entire length of the roller. This means there is less potential to damage the prints, easier control of the process and no need for supporting posts to protect the corners or ends of the prints. There are multiple levels of control so the user can really focus on delivering the finishing solution required.

Georgia Brown concludes, “As soon as we saw this product we knew we wanted to offer it to our customers. It is a beautifully and expertly designed product that will have a positive impact on many areas of our customers business. From the quality of work and reduction of waste to the overall health and wellbeing of operators. This is a bit special and we can’t wait to show it to our customers.”
