Divisions of Flint Group, including its Digital Solutions division, Xeikon, hosted one of the most popular exhibits at Labelexpo Americas 2018. The largest event for the label printing industry in the Americas, it was the venue for Xeikon’s announcement of its new entry-level Label Discovery solution featuring the Xeikon 3030. Xeikon showcased and sold all the digital label printing solutions it demonstrated at the trade show.

Color Ink, located in Sussex, Wisconsin, has purchased a Komori Impremia IS29, a first-of-its-kind 29-inch inkjet, sheetfed UV printing system. With a continual eye fixated on ‘what's next,” Color Ink has a history of turning to Komori to ensure it has the technology required to meet current business demands. For example, the company was an early adopter of Komori’s CTP system and over the years has purchased three 40-inch Komori presses. Two months ago, Color Ink added the Impremia IS29 to its production floor to take advantage of the competitive edge this press delivers when it comes to winning new business.

Under the theme ‘Shape the Future in Colour’, Mimaki will showcase its advanced colour additive manufacturing technology at formnext from the 13-16th November in Frankfurt. Running live on booth D26 in hall 3.1, the Mimaki 3DUJ-553 3D printer allows bureaux, designers and product developers to reach unparalleled levels of photorealism due to its fine detail and extensive colour capability.

Additive manufacturing company XJet Ltd. is ramping up attention on the metal side of its business, demonstrating its rapid growth since the show last year, and promising new developments at formnext 2018.

Ricoh has announced that the company has reached an agreement to buy LAC Corporation (hereafter “LAC”), a company with unique inkjet technology that supports printing on three-dimensional surfaces e.g. on the sides of cars, trucks, aircraft and even tyres and glass bottles. This acquisition is aimed at strengthening Ricoh’s industrial printing business, which is one of its three growth strategies. The transfer of the shares is scheduled to complete on October 31, 2018.

Asahi Photoproducts, a pioneer in flexographic photopolymer plate development, today announced it will be exhibiting at Labelexpo India 2018, scheduled for 22 to 25 November at the India Expo Centre, Greater Noida in Delhi NCR. Asahi will be located in Stand M6 at the show. The company will be showing its AWP™ family of water-washable flexographic plate solutions featuring Clean Transfer Technology, including its new AWP™-DEW plate with washout speeds 2.5 times faster than previous plates, making it ideal for on-demand platemaking and a more efficient flexographic operation in even the busiest plants.

Sandy Alexander, one of the nation’s largest privately owned graphic communications companies, has become the first in the United States to purchase Agfa Graphics’ Jeti Tauro H3300 LED printing system. The Jeti Tauro H3300 LED made its North America debut in Agfa Graphics’ booths at SGIA 2018 in Las Vegas.

HP have announced that ePac Flexible Packaging, the all-HP Indigo digital flexible packaging leader, is purchasing 20 HP Indigo 20000 digital presses to expand its business strategically throughout the US.

Sun Chemical will exhibit its portfolio for functional, industrial and specialty print applications suitable for a broad range of market sectors at InPrint 2018, in Milan, Italy from 20 to 22 November on stand 1254 in the south hall.

The general trend toward customization is a hallmark of the digital age. The option of custom-enhancing high-quality mass-produced items and thus reaching consumers or customers on a personal level opens up attractive new and profitable business models for manufacturers of branded goods and industrial production companies. As a result, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) is expecting a high level of interest in the possibilities for custom-finishing and printing on objects at InPrint 2018, which is taking place from November 20 to 22 in Milan. The company is therefore showcasing Omnifire technology and the Omnifire 250 and 1000 models, which can be used to print customized three-dimensional objects of any shape made from a wide variety of materials. Both models can be integrated into industrial production processes and online marketing campaigns. For example, the pilot user and automotive supplier Ritzi Lackiertechnik GmbH has integrated the inkjet system into its industrial production process. It has thus been able to significantly increase its productivity and quality compared to the previously used method.

XJet Ltd., the additive manufacturing company, opened the doors of a new cutting-edge Additive Manufacturing Center today. The Grand Opening event was witnessed by a spectrum of XJet stakeholders including local suppliers, global customers, and the company’s more than 100-strong team. With an investment of over 10 million dollars, the 8,000 square foot facility in Rehovot Science Park is home to the largest collection of metal and ceramic 3D printers worldwide, comprised entirely of XJet Carmel AM systems.
