Heralding the new dawn of cloud-based design services to support the sign and graphics industries, on display for the first time in Europe was Creative Media Maker from InClix, a subsidiary of Roland DG. The easy-to-use system provides easy to use design software, high-quality imagery via image banks, an integrated soft-proofing management system, and output which can easily be sent directly through the cloud to Roland DG technology to go straight into production. Visitors to the stand were impressed by the simplicity and effectiveness of the tool, and were invited to participate in the BETA pilot programme; with 90 days free of charge access in exchange for feedback to assist with further development. To enroll for the BETA pilot programme visit www.inclix.com and use enrollment code INCLIXDGB.
Roland also used Sign & Digital UK to announce a partnership with Custom Gateway to deliver a fully featured online system that enables retailers, sports and leisure businesses and existing sign and display businesses to easily deliver instantly personalised and customised products across all their on- and off-line channels. Custom Gateway is an easy to use cloud based software platform, digital content database and fulfilment network designed to enable the manufacturing and sales of customised, personalised or print-on-demand products. Thus far Roland has begun the process of integrating a range of its most popular hardware and software solutions. The first wave of development will incorporate the VersaUV LEF series of printers (LEF-300, LEF-200, LEF-12i) followed quickly by the VersaStudio (BN-20) desktop inkjet printer & cutter and the Metaza (MPX-95) metal printer. The first integrated systems are expected to be installed in the early Summer of 2017.
Continuing the theme of differentiating itself from its competitors, the company is the only manufacturer to have its own RIP technology designed and built by Roland DG; and as such demonstrations on the advanced Roland VersaWorks Dual RIP software were provided throughout the show. Included with print or print and cut purchases, saving customers thousands of pounds, VersaWorks Dual is also now available as a free of charge upgrade for owners of Roland DG’s current product line up. Also on display was the latest version of Roland PrintStudio, the RIP for Mac OS. With inbuilt ICC profiling tools, and advanced options for automation and template driven tiling, the RIP is ideal for businesses with demanding requirements.
Roland DG UK’s Brett Newman (pictured top left along with Roland DG EMEA managing director Jerry Davies) says: “It is well known that Roland DG offers more than just high-quality print solutions, and this was clearly reinforced at Sign & Digital UK 2017 – from packaged RIP technology, Roland DG Academy training, RolandCare technical support and warranty services, and now Creative Media Maker from InClix, the cloud-based design and workflow solution.”
“I want to take this opportunity to thank our customers who visited the Roland DG stand. There is nothing better or more credible than loyal customers returning time and time-again, or meeting new customers who learn of Roland DG through reputation, all wanting to invest in the latest Roland DG products. We are hugely proud of these relationships and the Roland DG products that inspire them.”
