An Essex-based family-run company is taking the first steps towards revolutionising the way that wide format wall décor will reach the domestic home interior décor market.

Roland DG has announced that both R A Smart and i-Sub Ltd will both add the Roland DG Texart XT-640 dye-sublimation transfer machine to their portfolio of printers as consumer demand for digital textile sublimation printing continues to rise.

Roland DG Corporation, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters worldwide, today announced the release of fluorescent ink specifically formulated for its Texart XT-640 and RT-640 wide-format dye-sublimation printers.

Roland DG has introduced a second new textile inkjet printer - Texart XT-640 - featuring dual print heads for high-speed performance at print speeds up to 63m2/h. The company says its new XT-640 is designed especially for the production of colourful fashion, sports apparel, interior design and soft signage, and comes bundled with ErgoSoft Roland Edition RIP software, developed especially by ErgoSoft for this printer.

Printed table cloth specialist Harberson Ltd has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with the corporate linens industry, with the business transforming itself from simple supplier to now offering bespoke dye-sublimation printing of tablecloths and linen for the exhibition industry thanks to its investment in a Mimaki TS34-1800A.

Slough based Kili Arts has installed an Epson SureColor SC-F6000 44-inch digital dye sublimation printer and a Sefa 1510 heat press to produce its new range of high quality ChromaLuxe photographic prints and metal panels.

For those looking to further their knowledge of dye-sublimation printing, Roland DG UK has produced a Dye Sublimation Guide with Digital Inkjet which provides an insightful guide to the technology and the many business opportunities it presents.

Roland DG’s dye sublimation transfer technology has achieved certification of OEKO-TEX Standard 100, product class I. The certification has been given for inkjet printing on polyester fabric with the company’s Texart ink, which is used for the Texart RT-640, the company’s latest dye sublimation transfer printer.

Epson says applying decorative inks to aluminium photographic plates, iPhone cases, ceramic tiles, mugs, and wood has never been easier or more cost-effective thanks to its new DS Transfer Multipurpose Paper.

Hot on the heels of Mimaki announcing its latest textile dye sublimation printer is Epson who announced a new SureColor SC-F9200 printer and HDK Black ink to help manufacturers produce high-quality, mass-production textiles quickly and consistently, while keeping costs low.

Mutoh Belgium has announced the launch of the €3,990 DrafStation RJ-900XG, a low cost entry level 42” (1080 mm) wide dye sublimation printer for those wanting to further extend their service offering with digital transfer applications.
