Epson Italia S.p.A. is to acquire 100% of the capital of Fratelli Robustelli S.r.l. (Robustelli), a leader in the textile printing industry.  Located in Como, the heart of the Italian and European high-quality printing textile industry, Robustelli specialises in the development, manufacture, and sale of digital inkjet textile printers, notably the Monna Lisa series (above), which it began developing with Epson in 2003.

EFI has acquired Optitex, an emerging, fast growing global player in integrated 3D design software that enables the textile industry's digital transformation and accelerates the adoption of fast fashion. With offices in the U.S., Italy, India, Hong Kong and Israel, privately held Optitex will be integrated into EFI's Productivity Software business unit.

A recent investment in a new MTEX Blue dye sublimation printer by Soyang Europe has enabled the company to significantly increase its sample production and testing, benefiting its customer base with an improved service.

Roland DG is to release a series of fluorescent inks specifically formulated for its Texart XT-640 and RT-640 wide-format dye-sublimation printers.

Dye sublimation is the most versatile textile digital printing process and while it is not suitable for every textile substrate, it is certainly the best route for signage professionals to dip their toe in the world of printed textiles, and potentially other rigid materials with the same hardware. Here textile printing expert Magnus Mighall of R A Smart explains how.

Hybrid Services has announced a couple of competitively priced dye sublimation printer packages with an attractive entry price and low running costs. The two packages are ideal for companies looking at adding dye sub printing to their service offering.

An Essex-based family-run company is taking the first steps towards revolutionising the way that wide format wall décor will reach the domestic home interior décor market.

Roland DG has announced that both R A Smart and i-Sub Ltd will both add the Roland DG Texart XT-640 dye-sublimation transfer machine to their portfolio of printers as consumer demand for digital textile sublimation printing continues to rise.

Kornit Digital has announced that its long-term customer Blur of Barcelos, Portugal, has purchased an Allegro single-step digital textile printing solution. Already highly successful with its Kornit Avalanche direct-to-garment systems, this enterprising company is now moving into the market for the full digital production of fast fashion products with the addition of full roll-to-roll printing capabilities.

The first UK installation of EFI’s VUTEk FabriVU 340 soft signage printer has gone in to theatrical industry supplier Prompt Side Theatrical Drapery. Already a user of a VUTEk GS3250LX Pro LED printer, the company was seeking a way to add polyesters and other fabrics to its portfolio to extend the types of scenery, backdrops and drapery it produces for a vast range of applications.

Graphic production and installation company Extreme Display has added a second MTEX direct to textile printer to its fleet, investing in a new 3.2m MTEX 5032Pro to sit alongside its MTEX 3200.

ABC Imaging is meeting an increasing demand for temporary wall, floor and window graphics by using CMYUK’s removable and repositionable UTACK textile media including the Multisurface option.

Mimaki says it has added Light Black to its portfolio of high-performance sublimation inks following the recent release of neon yellow and pink fluorescent inks available in two litre ink packs, all of which are ideal for low-volume, high-quality use in fashion and sportswear and swimwear.

It would appear that Italian digital textile printing machinery companies have become a much sought after acquisition following EFI’s purchase of the Bergamo based Reggiani Macchine last year, and now the Japanese inkjet giant Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd. has snapped up the stocks of another Bergamo based textile printing machinery company, La Meccanica Costruzione Tessili-S.P.A.
