Race wrapper advocates 3M wrap materials

September 07, 2015

Northamptonshire based Core Motorsport Services provides design, development and trackside support services to both individual race teams and series organisers.

The company says it is a firm advocate of 3M materials and recently flew out to Shanghai to wrap two WTCC (World Touring Car Championship) Chevrolets (above). Using material that was easy to apply was, therefore, was imperative as getting replacement print would have been impossible working remotely and in the timescale they were working to.

The company chose William Smith to produce the full printed wrap on 3M IJ40.

“Fully printed wraps are rare for us, but we were impressed by the quality of the material and the speed of turnaround William Smith was able to achieve,” says Core Motorsport’s Martyn Kane. “We 3M 1080 Series.Core Motorsport.Bvv3B6jCEAA 9iMfind that 3M materials go on well and are quick to apply, which is important for us as we regularly re-wrap vehicles throughout the year when bodywork is repaired, and many of the jobs require a fast turnaround.”

The vast majority of jobs undertaken by Core Motorsport are colour-change wraps. Typical examples are an Audi wrapped in 3M 1080 Series Metallic Blue (left) for the British Touring Car Championship, an Oreca LMP2 car wrapped in 3M 1080 Series Silver for the World Endurance Championship, and four aerobatic stunt planes wrapped in 3M 80 Series Red and Black in Penang, Malaysia.
