The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) today announced that longtime printing industry marketing and sales executive Jack Noonan has joined the organization as vice president of business development. In this newly created role, Noonan will oversee PRINTING United exposition exhibitor and sponsorship partnerships for SGIA, strengthen existing communities, develop dedicated postal and packaging sector participation, and help explore new business opportunities for the leading annual event in the combined graphic arts industries.

PRINTING United, the most comprehensive expo and event showcase in the printing industry, today announces that the event has already eclipsed the total square footage sold in 2019 and is on track to sell out again in 2020. This second edition of the show — which brought the entire printing industry together for the first time under one roof in North America — will take place October 21 - 23, 2020 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

In its continued support of students in the printing industry, SGIA today announces the opening of its annual Student Scholarship Program and the ASDPT Tom Frecska Student Printing Competition. Both initiatives work to provide students with long-term resources, tools, and recognition to aid with continued growth in the industry.

SGIA and NAPCO Media today announce that Andy Cvitanov has been appointed Chief Operating Officer. In this new position, Cvitanov will oversee all operations within the newly formed company, including association infrastructure, strategy, audience development, finance, IT, human resources and more.

Confidence in the future of the industrial inkjet market is high, according to a new survey from FM Future and Strategic Partner Ricoh Europe. The Academy of Screen and Digital Printing Technologies (ASDPT) inducted its newest members — Mark Gervais of Ningbo Shenzhou Knitting, Brian Hoag of Roseville Area High School and Beppe Quaglia of Quaglia srl/VIRUS Inks — on October 24 during PRINTING United at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.

Mimaki USA, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and cutters, was honored with the prestigious SGIA Product of the Year Award in two categories. The Mimaki JFX200-2513 EX UV-LED flatbed printer won in the UV/Latex Flatbed (under $100,000) category, and the Mimaki 3DUJ-553 full color 3D printer won in the 3D Printer category.
