The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) is pleased to announce James Martin has come on board as Executive Vice President, Supplier and Manufacturer Relations. In this capacity, Martin will also serve as Executive Secretary of the soon-to-be-launched Supplier and Manufacturer Advisory Council.
A tour of The M&R Companies facility in Roselle, Illinois, capped off three days of networking, innovation and education at FP3: Functional Printing, Process and Products (June 4–6, Itasca, Illinois), a new conference from the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA). M&R was FP3’s Diamond Sponsor, and 135 attendees were on hand for the event.
The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) is pleased to announce the 2018 recipients of its annual scholarship. The 15 students, representing eight colleges and universities, were chosen from a field of more than 200 applicants.
Industry support is growing for FP3: Functional Printing, Process and Products, a new conference from the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA). A week before the June 4–6 event in Itasca, Illinois, SGIA reports 18 industry-leading suppliers have signed on as sponsors.
Before inkjet became the dominant printing process, screen printing was the only segment in the world of printing that could and does print on practically anything. During this time, most printing was done on some form of paper, where adhesion and durability were not primary factors in ink and substrate performance. The commercial screen printing industry began as a short-run process to reproduce images on paper and paper board substrates.
