The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) has opened registration for this year's FP3: Functional Printing, Process & Products (May 5–7, Itasca, Illinois). Super early bird registration fees are in place through February 15.

The organizers of PRINTING United 2019 (October 23–25, Dallas), the largest printing-focused expo in North America, have opened the Call for Presentations for the event. Submissions will be accepted through February 22.

The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA), in conjunction with the Specialty Graphic Imaging Foundation (SGIF), is accepting scholarship applications for the 2019-2020 academic year. With the continued support of donations from endowment investors and industry leaders, 20 students will be eligible for $2,000 each.

The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association’s (SGIA) 2018 SGIA Expo — the last before launching its PRINTING United trade show with NAPCO Media in 2019 — brought more than 24,000 people to the Las Vegas Convention Center October 18–20. With 612 suppliers on the sold-out exhibit floor, 72 expert-led education sessions and a host of networking events, attendees were inspired by the latest innovations and “what’s on the horizon” for the printing industry.

The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) honored excellence in student printing at the 2018 SGIA Expo, awarding winners of the Academy of Screen and Digital Printing Technologies (ASDPT) Tom Frecska Student Printing Competition. This year’s Best of Show winners are Gabi Huben from Careerline Tech (secondary) and Jose Revueltas from Pasadena City College (post-secondary).

The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) recognized the best printing in the industry at the 2018 SGIA Expo today, presenting winners of this year’s Golden Image Competition. The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) has chosen two Durst large-format digital printers as “2018 Product of the Year” in their respective categories. The Durst Rhotex 325 dual-purpose fabric & soft-signage printer received the honor in the Roll-to-Roll Direct Disperse Ink on Textile category and the Delta WT 250 was awarded best RTR/Hybrid/Flatbed New Technology or Inkset category.

The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) has purchased the printing trade show Graphics of the Americas (GOA) from the Florida Graphics Alliance (FGA) (formerly the Printing Association of Florida). Following a transition period, GOA will relaunch in February 2020 in Miami Beach, Florida. SGIA acquired the show in August 2018.
