Landor UK and Radwraps Wall Graphics Systems have created dementia-friendly wall graphics designed to provide a therapeutic and nostalgic environment for dementia patients for many years. They are using Phototex self-adhesive fabric to provide complete graphics solutions that can be installed with minimal disruption to carers, patients and residents. The prints are then coated with Landor’s ColourShield liquid laminate anti-microbial coating, which adds greater durability and image quality and is Certified ISO 22196 offering 99% protection from harmful germs and bacteria.

To meet the sustainability requirements of Hilson Moran, a leading firm of building consulting engineers, Vinyl Impression has provided and installed several wall decorations using Phototex. This self-adhesive fabric material is fully recyclable, fully removeable and repositionable and never damages walls or leaves sticky residue. It is also very easy to install, all of which made Phototex the ideal solution for Hilson Moran.

Earlier this year, London-based American artist, Loreal Prystaj, used Phototex self-adhesive fabric as a key component in her unique art installation, Nude Pepper, in the ‘Around the Table’ exhibition at No.20 Arts Gallery in Islington, London. The installation was removed, stored and then reinstalled at the Photo London 2021, at Somerset House in September. It has since been removed again and is available to reinstall should Loreal wish.

Remember photography? Back in the eighties Martin Thompson was in the darkrooms of the Royal College of Art, carefully agitating a tray of developer, patiently waiting for an image to appear on a blank sheet of photographic paper. A stop bath, a fix and a wash later, he would usually shuffle back to the enlarger to try again. “I was never satisfied with a ‘straight’ photograph” says Martin, “it just wasn’t enough. I was experimenting with multiple exposures, dodging, burning, toning and painting on my photographs. I was trying anything. It was a bit hit and miss in those days”. The work he did produce was good enough to be used by eighties style magazines ‘The Face’ and ‘Blitz’ but in the darkroom the possibilities were limited. Then everything went digital. Suddenly the possibilities were endless.

Landor Phototex has made an inspirational mark throughout the sign and display, Point of sale, Interiors, Photo, art and Events market for the past 10 years. In 2010 it made its first television appearance on the Gadget show, where Tommy Walsh and Suzi Peri competed decorating a wall by applying a traditional wall paper versus Landor Phototex. The result : Phototex was the clear winner!

A lot of our work comes from the motorsports industry, which as you can probably guess means everything we produce has to always look twice as good as anything else in order to please our customers sponsors. After all, nobody in their right mind would ever sponsor a racing team that put crappy looking graphics on their cars!

Landor UK is fast gaining a reputation for engaging with leading designers and photographers and introducing them to new and challenging graphic applications which will enhance their work.

Leeds based Conrad Davies is not your typical design and graphics business. Specialising in every aspect of design with a mix of graphic styles, and underpinned by a vast range of experience with key household brands, Davies is always questioning the creative output to help maximise the visual and motivational effects of the work he produces.

Digital imaging specialist distributor Landor UK has launched of two new versions of its Landor Phototex repositionable self-adhesive fabric medias in response to customer demand for an opaque and a fire rated version.
