Following nearly two decades of graphic design and signage industry experience and the arrival of a beautiful baby boy, Adam Cox launched his own business in April 2017: Feenix Signs & Graphics Ltd. Since its inception, the company has been supplying and installing internal and external signage, vehicle livery and fleet graphics to both trade and private customers in and around the thriving industrial area of Wisbech.

As work on Bolton Museum’s new Egyptology gallery progresses, new designs for the £3.8 million project have been released.

The pace of change has been incredible. Following the global push towards automation, cloud-based color-management technology is now a tangible and exciting prospect for LFP businesses everywhere.

With International Print Day (#IPD17) only a few days away, I wanted to share with you one of my favourite print experiences.

As the saying goes, “life is like a book”, and as each day turns a new page, we find ourselves less than a week away from the chapter entitled International Print Day 2017 (Wednesday 18thOctober).

The results of an international survey by Two Sides provides unique insight into how print and paper is viewed, preferred and trusted by consumers around the globe.

Trade shows can be one of the most rewarding forms of marketing when approached with the right strategy but there are many factors and costs to consider before, during and after the event. Rather than set specific objectives, some companies attend tradeshows without truly considering what they are hoping to get out of it. Conversely, others may avoid trade shows altogether, if the cost outlay can’t be justified and the results are difficult to measure. If you’re a would-be exhibitor, ensuring you get the most from your attendance can seem like a daunting task but there are a number of steps that can be taken to ensure you get the best ROI for time as well as budget.

Following Stephen Woodall's appointment as Global Market Segment Manager for Aqueous & Solvent Digital Inks at Nazdar Ink Technologies earlier this year, he gives his insight into trends in the signage and graphics market. Based in Stockport, Stephen Woodall works closely with regional managers in territories across the globe and Nazdar's UK- and USA-based R&D teams. He says that currently Nazdar is actively working with channel partners who want to specifically target markets and expand their customer network.

My ideas about websites have changed over the years. Like many newer companies I’ve used Ad Agencies, Friends of Friends and even myself from time to time to oversea what happens online for my company. To be honest, I never understood a clear goal or strategy until years later. Fast Forward to today and I can easily say the most important function of a website or online meeting place is to generate new orders, in my opinion. With that said, it’s easier said than done. Ad Agencies will cost a small fortune, friends of friends don’t really have a stake in the project and if you go it alone you have endless topics you must become familiar with.

With all the different options now available in the world of print finishing, it may seem a bit daunting to figure out the importance of the process and, although it may not be obvious to the casual observer, finishing is as important a factor in print production as applying ink to media.
