It would appear that Italian digital textile printing machinery companies have become a much sought after acquisition following EFI’s purchase of the Bergamo based Reggiani Macchine last year, and now the Japanese inkjet giant Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd. has snapped up the stocks of another Bergamo based textile printing machinery company, La Meccanica Costruzione Tessili-S.P.A.

The increase in demand for bespoke and short run interior textiles – be it for furnishings, décor or display graphics – is showing no sign of abating. This is why Mimaki is set to launch a 3.2-m wide, roll-to-roll, dedicated transfer paper printer - TS500P-3200 - for the textile industry. The new Mimaki sublimation inkjet printer is ideal for a broad range of applications including home furnishing textiles and indoor soft signage.

Roland DG has introduced a second new textile inkjet printer - Texart XT-640 - featuring dual print heads for high-speed performance at print speeds up to 63m2/h. The company says its new XT-640 is designed especially for the production of colourful fashion, sports apparel, interior design and soft signage, and comes bundled with ErgoSoft Roland Edition RIP software, developed especially by ErgoSoft for this printer.

Mimaki has announced it will be introducing a brand-new super-fast 1.8m roll-to-roll direct-to-textile inkjet printer at ITMA in Milan next month. The company says its new printer is designed to meet the market demand for smaller lot sizes, faster delivery times and the ability to quickly produce samples.

Korean based digital inkjet/textile printing solution provider Digital Graphics Incorporation (DGI) has awarded exclusive distribution rights for its range of sublimation and textile printers to Sabur Digital Ltd for the UK and Ireland. Sabur is also a significant distributor of Roland’s broad range of wide format printers.

Printed table cloth specialist Harberson Ltd has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with the corporate linens industry, with the business transforming itself from simple supplier to now offering bespoke dye-sublimation printing of tablecloths and linen for the exhibition industry thanks to its investment in a Mimaki TS34-1800A.

Wide format digital print specialist Fosco Hayes Hurdley has moved into the direct to textile print arena with the purchase of a new MTEX 1800 printer. The Birmingham based business is looking to use the printer for clients operating in the retail POS sector, but has plans to expand into other growth areas such as contract interiors, hotels and interior decoration.

International Expo-Consults (IEC) is the organiser Sign and Graphics Imaging (SGI Dubai) in the Middle East and Asia Pacific region. Its chairman, Mr. Abdul Rahman Falaknaz, believes the UAE can capitalise on the fast growing textile printing industry and has a huge potential to become one of the market leaders, particularly as UAE currently stands as the world’s fourth largest trading centre of textiles, generating an approximate $17.5 billion annually.

Walsall based Colour Graphics is a one-stop-shop digital print service provider offering the full gamut of digitally printed products - including textiles - following the company’s recent investment in an MTEX 5032Pro digital textile printer.

It’s the opening day of FESPA 2015 and Mimaki has announced the availability of its latest wide format printer - the TS300P-1800, a 1.8m wide roll-to-roll sublimation inkjet printer that Mimaki says will be available from July.

MTEX Technologies has plans to create a ‘UK first’ for direct-to-textile print solutions at Sign & Digital UK 2015, showing the newly launched MTEX Vision with direct disperse inks and the MTEX PAD coating machine together as a ‘snapshot’ of its total turnkey solutions.

Sign & Digital UK and Roland DG have announced an exclusive visitor prize giveaway of a Roland Texart RT-640 64” dye sublimation printer which also includes installation and a set of Texart inks worth more than £13,000. Also included with the prize is a one-year RolandCare Silver warranty.

After the overwhelming success of Heimtextil India this summer, Messe Frankfurt has announced announce the next edition of inspiration - Heimtextil India 2015 that aims to bring with it enhanced opportunities to network during the Indian buying season, from 25 – 27 June 2015 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The organisers, in a series of moves to scale up the exhibition level, have decided to focus on technical innovations, upcoming talents, knowledge sharing, as well as home furnishing and textile market developments through strategically planned fringe programmes.
