Imprint upgrades recent Onset X3 investment to high speed to increase productivity

July 23, 2019

We are continuing to invest in our large format print division Imprint. The recent investment of £2.5 million on two new Inca Digital Onset X3 presses have now been upgraded to high speed delivering enhanced automation.

The two new Inca Digital Onset x3 3.2m wide presses take substrates sized up to 3.22x1.6m at a maximum thickness of 50mm and includes a robotic arm for high productivity. Its 14 channels feature three sets of CMYK plus the choice of white or orange.

The upgrade means an increase in productivity on the existing X3 models, utilising a new ‘single cycle’ mode to print at up to 1,450sqm/hr – more than 50% higher than the top print speed of the original X3.

Dave Bullivant, Imprint Managing Director commented “The upgrade of the two Inca Digital Onset X3 machines to high speed delivers enhanced automation to the business at a high quality, this dramatically improves our speed to market and also enables us to introduce high quality packaging products in addition to our portfolio of point of sale graphics. The upgraded ink system with improved adhesion also broadens the range of rigid plastic products we can produce.”
