Surrey-based diversified print service provider POSITIVE+ has said its investment in an HP Latex R2000 printer has significantly enhanced its environmental credentials and expanded its printing capacity, enabling it to take on more work.

Established in 2019 by combining Colouration Limited and PI (UK) Limited, POSITIVE+ offers a host of printing services, from small-format digital and litho printing through to wide-format UV, latex, solvent and inkjet.

The company counts leading brands such as Boots, Clarins, Discovery, Medtronic and Godiva among its wide range of clients, with many of these choosing to work with POSITIVE+ due to its commitment to the environment.

This ongoing drive to becoming increasingly sustainable led POSITIVE+ to invest in the HP Latex 2000, which, as is the case with all HP Latex printers, uses water-based inks that are significantly kinder to the environment than other ink types.

Purchased from approved HP distributor and large-format print specialist Papergraphics, the HP Latex 2000 was installed in August of this year and has already been put to work on a number of projects, ranging from acrylic pieces to roll-fed vinyls and larger volume runs.

POSITIVE+ previously purchased an HP 800W Latex printer from Papergraphics in July 2022 so the company was very confident in the technology and its eco-credentials.

Tony Dennington, Chief Commercial & Sustainability Officer, at POSITIVE+ says: “Our commitment to working more sustainably to meet more demanding industry expectations has seen an increasing number of our print runs move from PVC and plastic based materials to card and corrugated materials.

“With larger print run orders coming through, we needed to look at additional equipment to complement our existing UV flatbed and roll-to-roll wide-format equipment.

“The combination of water-based inks and a strong vacuum bed with a hybrid feeding system on the HP Latex R2000 has allowed us to produce our card-based print runs faster and more sustainably than our existing flatbed printers.”

Tony said that while the machine has only been in place for a matter of months, the team at POSITIVE+ has already felt the benefit of operating with an increased printing capacity, saying that this has allowed the company to be competitive for larger volume print runs.

In addition, Tony said the eco-conscious appeal of the HP Latex R2000 will help the business secure even more profitable work across a range of markets for many years to come.

“I believe its eco-friendly credentials will help us win more projects in the future. Knowing the reliability of HP, I am confident it won’t let us down when we most need it – in the middle of large and urgent print runs.”
